What to expect with your first marijuana dispensary experience?
I would love to hear what people thought about their early experiences with legal retail stores. Any tips or suggestions for someone new walking into one for the first time??
You might have many choices and some might have none. my advise would be for you to check them all out, get familiar with their menus to make sure they carry the strain you want. You are also want to keep an eye on their prices and lastly, read their reviews to find out how knowledgeable their staff is just in case you have any questions. Now, if you are an expert then just take a look at their menu and make sure the price i right.
I only have one dispensary in my area and they do not carry my favorite strain and so I still get it from my former weed guy and also have a few plants in my back yard. My experience was just like buying alcohol for the first time. I was so eager to try everything that I was a little overwhelmed so I picked a few items, went gome, got high and took some time to get more familiar with their menu to make my next visit a little less overwhelming next time.
What state and city do you live in? As quickly as dispensaries are popping up all over states where marijuana has been legalized for recreational or medicinal purposes, some cities and counties are taking still taking a more conservative approach. I honestly do not consider that approach to be the appropriate since taking market share away from the black market and converting them into taxable and regulated sales that will ultimately decrease crime and increase the cities' revenue.
Regardless, your first experience should be fun! It is amazing the amount of brands and different delivery methods they have come up with! Some of the strains you will find and products such as wax, can be very potent so make sure you consult your bud-tender to make sure you get s product that suits your needs or desires.
I live in Ventura, CA which is how I cam across this forum. Our county is not big and we already have about 14 dispensaries and another 8 to open up soon in Oxnard, CA. I though they would all be the same but I was wrong. Here are some aspects that might differ from dispensary to dispensary:
Bud-tenders attitude, customer service and knowledge.
Number of brands and strains ( I know some local dispensaries carry double the inventory over their competitors.
Lastly, which I also find important is if they are legitimately interested in creating a good customer experience or get you in and out as quick as possible to make room for more sales. While the later makes sense and they need to make sure they are profitable, you still need to take care of your clients otherwise there will be no buyers that you will need to make room for. The dispensary that find a balance and generate high profits and happy clients have chosen the right approach.
Also, I came across this site trying to review all the local dispensaries' menus and would recommend for you to do the same wherever that might be!
Overwhelming! So many choices! So many prices! So little time to try them all! (I ended up just getting alittle bit of several different kinds and then ended up forgetting which ones I liked anyway)

I want it to go exactly like WEEDS the TV series. I need to feel absolutely flabbergasted and excited enough to buy way more than I'd ever need.
Haha you WILL buy more then you wanted to or needed so be prepare for that!
